UNIT 5 page 65 SPEAKING

S: I can go to bed late at weekends. And you?

L: No, I can´t.

S: I can meet interesting people at weekends. What about you?

L: Yes, I can.

S: I can´t go to the cinema on weekends. Can you?

L: Yes, I can.

S: I must cook at home. And you?

L: No, I mustn´t.

S: I mustn´t run at school. And you?

L: No, I mustn´t.

S: I should study hard, but I don´t do it.

S: I shouldn´t go to bed late, but I go to bed late at weekends.

Susi: Can you swim quickly?
Laura: Yes, I can.
Susi: I´m surprised. Can you jump high?
Laura: No, I can´t.
Susi: I didn´t know that. Can you dance well?
Laura: Yes, I can.
Susi: I was right. Can you play tennis well?
Laura: No, I can´t.
Susi: Can you run fast?
Laura: No, I can´t. I can run slowly.
Susi: Can you sing beautifully?
Laura: Yes, I can.
Susi: How interesting.

Laura can swim quickly.
Laura can´t jump high.
Laura can dance well.

MODAL VERBS can/ can´t, must/ mustn´t, should/ shouldn´t

1. A one day old baby can´t speak.
    Un bebé de un día no puede hablar.

2. In basketball, the players can throw the ball, but they mustn´t kick it.
    En el basket, los jugadores pueden lanzar/atrapar el balón, pero ellos no deben patearlo.

3. In many schools around the world, students must do sport two or three times a week and they mustn´t forget to wear trainers. 
    En muchos colegios alrededor del mundo, los estudiantes deben hacer deporte dos o tres veces en  semana y ellos no deben olvidar llevar zapatillas deportivas.

4. The students should drink water during the breaks, but shouldn´t ask the teacher to go out of the classroom to drink water when they are in the middle of the class.
    Los estudiantes deberían beber agua durante los descansos, pero no deben pedir al profesor salir de clase para beber agua cuando ellos están en mitad de la clase.

5. Rafael Nadal can play tennis very well.
    Rafael Nadal puede jugar al tenis muy bien.

6. The students can´t play tennis because it is raining.
    Los estudiantes no pueden jugar al tenis porque está lloviendo.

B: Yes, please. I´d like to go to Brighton. Which bus do I take?
A: Bus 323 goes to Brighton.
B: How often does the bus run?
A: Once a day.
B: I see. When´s the next bus?
A: At 10:00 am.
B: How much does a ticket cost?
A: It´s £1. Would you like a ticket?
B: Yes, please. Where´s the bus stop?
A: It´s right over there. Have a good trip!

B: Yes, please. I´d like to go to Reading. Which bus do I take?
A: Bus 221 goes to Reading.
B: How often does the bus run?
A: Once an hour.
B: I see. When´s the next bus?
A: At 9:30 am.
B: How much does a ticket cost?
A: It´s £13. Would you like a ticket?
B: Yes, please. Where´s the bus stop?
A: It´s right over there. Have a good trip!

A: Every twenty minutes.

MY HOLIDAYS IN CARBONERAS

This is a photo from my holidays in Carboneras.
It´s beautiful there because Carboneras has got many beaches.
My family is swimming in the beaches.
Those are my brother and my dog in the photo.
Joaquín is fourteen years old and he´s an excellent swimmer.
I am taking photos.
It´s warm in the beaches, but we aren´t warm.
Joaquín is wearing a blue T-shirt and a swimming trunks.
We´re having a great time.
